Whew! Okay full disclosure here folks, October was completely crazy for me personally. This past weekend I feel like I crossed a finish line of some sort. I had many more ideas ready to explore last month in our Natural Materials series, unfortunately some of them had to be postponed but I will share them in the future, time permitting. With a tough month behind me, November is looking oh so good! Â I’m ready to get creative, are you?
This month we are going to be working with wood! From popsicle sticks to pegboard, clothespins to cork, you name it, we’re gonna get all arty, science, and designy with it! We are just beginning to get creative with wood projects here on Babble Dabble Do; here are a few wood based projects we’ve tackled in the past:

Then check out some other amazing wood crafts on other blogs I adore:

And be sure to follow our Wood Crafts Pinterest Board; 59 pins and the month just started….I’ll be pinning much more woodsy inspiration there this month!
Note: This post contains affiliate links to products I love and recommend to my readers, plus it keeps this little blog o’mine afloat! Thank you!
So let’s get woodsy already!
I’m really thrilled with our material this month! After spending October exploring natural materials I realized how difficult it was to always contend with the rot factor……Truly, I had a couple projects ready to share with you only to find them covered in mold a couple days after completion. Yeeeeech! I’m aiming for only one rotten project this month and it’s supposed to get funky….
Another reason I’m excited is because in my previous life as an industrial designer I spent a lot of time working with wood. The furniture piece I am most proud of having designed is this one:
Dino Chair:Â Â I created a 2D pattern in CAD and then CNC’d a sheet of plywood using the template. This puppy went to the Milan Furniture Fair in 2004.
November Giveaway
Lastly, all our subscribers will be automatically entered into this month’s giveaway. Usually I giveaway a book but this month I wanted to mix it up….we’ll be giving away a set of Tedco’s Blocks & Marbles Standard Set. These can be made into a fantastic marble run. And did I mention they smell so good?
