Cheap, easy, magical…those are the top criteria I have for any projects we attempt during the holidays (actually these are my favorite types of projects all year long). Many of you have told me how little time you have to do creative projects during the year in general but we are all super squeezed for time RIGHT NOW.
So today I’m bringing you an easy Christmas craft that simply requires you to print, color, make a few folds and cuts and viola you end up with something a little magical that you can decorate the tree with….
3D Paper Ornaments are really easy to make, even for kids who are still mastering their fine motor skills. One sheet of cardstock makes 5 ornaments (how’s that for super cheap too?).
And psst….if you have a classroom of students you can print 5 sheets and Bam! there is your holiday art activity.

Malena Valcarcel Malena Valcarcel creates incredible 3D paper art from book pages. Her work is stunning in its detail and the way it brings life to a 2D material. I also love that you can actually purchase her work online. You can visit her on Etsy here. One of the things I love about artists that transform materials in unique ways is that they explore the boundaries of materials, helping others see possibilities that many of us wouldn’t, and often find uses for old products that might otherwise be thrown away. I love that Malena Valcarcel is creatively upcycling old books into works of art.
I hope today’s easy Christmas craft allows your family to squeeze in a little creative time as a family this holiday.
These 3D Paper Ornaments are about as easy as it gets and look really lovely hanging from the Christmas tree. If you have a yearly handmade ornament making tradition like we do, these would be a super easy one to make!

Ana i love these! we are making them today! only thing is i cannot figure out how you did the Triangle exterior layer on the one pictured. Is it just no more than common sense and drawing/cutting out a triangle as the last/first layer shape? thank you and God bless you and your family during this holiday and every season. Your long time subby, Jeanine and Fam
